SUMMARY:The Renaissance Society at Cal State University Sacramento - Advance Care Planning & End of Life Options
DESCRIPTION:Rita Mason\, volunteer with End of Life Choices CA (EOLCCA)\, will host a discussion of the importance of sharing your values and end-of-life wishes with loved ones\, legal end-of-life options\, and the resources and support provided by End of Life Choices California. Legal end-of-life options include stopping unwanted medical treatment\, palliative care\, hospice care\, voluntarily stopping eating and drinking (VSED)\, and California’s End of Life Option Act (also known as medical aid in dying). \nRita is a certified End-of-Life Doula dedicated to helping people navigate the end-of-life journey with compassion\, dignity\, and peace. Drawing on personal experience and training\, she provides emotional\, spiritual\, and practical support for those facing illness\, grief\, and end-of-life decisions. Rita volunteers with EOLCCA through its Speakers Bureau and Day of Ingestion programs for individuals utilizing Medical Aid in Dying. Rita also works alongside hospice and palliative care teams to ensure everyone feels supported and empowered.
