Reina Galanes

Reina Galanes

Thankfully, we have Reina Galanes on hand to step in to fill Rita’s shoes! Reina attended our October 2023 Volunteer Training and dove right in, helping to update our presentations to the public, adding substantive context to our volunteer training, and completing client support training. Reina is passionate about end-of-life issues, having experienced the deaths of her spouse and parents from terminal illnesses. She also followed the plight of 29-year-old Brittany Maynard who moved to Oregon in 2014 where she could die with dignity because that option was not legally available in her home state of California at that time.

“Although none of us knows when our lives will end, Californians have choices about how they want to experience the end of life. I want everyone to know that EOLCCA is here to help people with navigating those choices,” says Reina. “Our Speakers Bureau is a professional and accessible resource to help educate the public. Please reach out to me at for more information and to schedule a presentation for your group!”

Reina is originally from New Hampshire and currently resides in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2021, she retired from a career spanning clinical psychology, healthcare regulatory compliance and quality management at several national organizations, and instructional design. Welcome, Reina, and thank you for taking on this role!
