About Us

End of Life Choices California offers trained Client Volunteers to work with
Californians who are seriously or terminally ill, or those simply thinking
ahead and planning for the future.

We provide Californians the information and support to successfully navigate their legal end-of-life options.

Founders’ Story

We founded End of Life Choices California out of an abiding belief that all Californians diagnosed with a terminal illness should have factual information about, and access to, all legal options concerning their end of life wishes. We come together as friends and colleagues with decades of professional work in medicine, nonprofit development, volunteer management, and a wish to expand access to health care with our shared commitment to the growing death with dignity movement.

Why the Dragonfly Logo?

In almost every part of the world, the dragonfly symbolizes change and change in the perspective of self-realization.

We believe that facing death, knowing who we are and facing this time in our lives, provides an opportunity for grace and understanding of the deeper meaning of life.. It is our honor to be able to spend time with people preparing to die. We think the dragonfly represents the mysticism of this huge time of life change, both for the person dying and for the people who love them.

To further embrace these meanings, EOLCCA has established its own Dragonfly Society for donors who wish to make a planned gift or estate bequest.
