Educating Physician Assistant Students about End-of-Life Options

Shannon O’Shea and Grant Affleck, Volunteers with End of Life Choices California (EOLCCA), will introduce Physician Assistant students at Point Loma Nazarene University to the importance of sharing values and end-of-life wishes with loved ones; legal end-of-life options; and, the resources and support provided by EOLCCA. Legal end-of-life options in California include stopping unwanted medical treatments; palliative care; hospice care; voluntarily stopping eating and drinking (VSED); and California’s End of Life Option Act (also known as medical aid in dying).
